Facilitates assessment of which patients have the greatest need for care, as the tests can be led by other than, for example, licensed psychologists. This enables an overview of more patients' cognitive status early in the care contact, which can shorten waiting times.
Objective examination findings can facilitate communication with the patient, between different care providers and with external parties such as development assistance officers and the patient's relatives.
